Major Duties
- Schedules orientations, supervised visitations, and safe exchanges for child/family members.
- Provides a detailed orientation to the services provided by the Safe Haven Program.
- Provides supervised visitation and safe exchanges at Safe Haven, including arrivals, drop-offs, and pick-ups.
- Ensures that all visitations and exchanges are conducted as scheduled within reason.
- Ensures a safe exchange and monitoring service for the children and/or adult victims.
- Ensures the safety of children and adult victims.
- Treats all clients and visitors with the utmost respect and dignity.
- Documents interactions and all incidents between child and parent during the visit.
- Assists families in obtaining appropriate services.
- Keeps client files secured and ensures that only authorized personnel have access to client files.
- Keeps all clients' file documentation current and follows policies and procedures on confidentially.
- Helps implement grant-funded efforts, including grant-funded training for court-based and court-related personnel and work with MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) partners.
- Assists with grant related paperwork, including attending trainings, close communication with OVW (Office of Violence Against Women), required technical consultants, and semi-annually reporting.
- Attends court when subpoenaed for a family case.
- Conducts self in a professional manner.
- Attends mandatory grant training, as required.
- Maintains close communication with other monitors to ensure smooth program operations.
- Willing to attend professional development.
- Respectfully engages with survivors of domestic violence, those who have perpetrated domestic violence, and children who have experienced violence/or sexual abuse.
- Performs any other duties as assigned pertaining exclusively to Safe Haven.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts.
- Ability to work with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and /or child abuse.
- Ability to work in teams with colleagues in the provision of quality services.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
- Ability to work during program hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Software.
- Experience in the use of office equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple needs, expectations, and safety issues.
- Possess a strong understanding of the dynamics of any domestic violence/or sexual abuse.
- Possess an ability to work calmly and rationally in a challenging situation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED; from an accredited institution.
- At least one (1) year of experience in domestic violence programs or related programs, preferred.
Supplemental Information Complexity/Scope of Work
- The work consists of duties related to scheduling and monitoring supervised visitation and safe exchanges for and between victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual assault, and child abuse and the alleged perpetrator. The unique needs of each family contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to coordinate and monitor these visitation and safe exchanges.
