Job Description:

The Senior (Scrum Master is accountable for all aspects of a diverse, very complex information technology project or multiple large-scale IT projects. Serves as a coach, mentor, and facilitator of Agile practices ensuring fast product development through transparency, inspection, and adaptation. Provides project management coordination, support, and assistance in all aspects of IT product development. Job Responsibilities

  • Senior Scrum Master
  • Coach, mentor, and facilitate the team members' adoption of an Agile mindset, including ownership, self-management and empowerment.
  • Manage and facilitate the scrum team's daily work including execution of Sprint Ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review and Retrospective)
  • Capturing and tracking sprint metrics (e.g., team velocity), and being accountable for the continuous improvement of the scrum team
  • Create a collaborative environment which allows the team and stakeholders to interact closely.
  • Identifying and removing impediments to allow the team to focus on development.
  • Help the team identify its strengths and weaknesses.
  • Motivating and acting as the glue that holds the team together.
  • Act as a Coach/Mentor to other teams and more junior Scrum Masters in the same portfolio
  • Help craft and maintain portfolio level reporting, leading a collaboration of other Scrum Masters and Project Managers.
  • Lead or facilitate Scrum of Scrums (SoS), Scrum Master Community of Practice (SM CoP), and similar forums for developing and peer coaching best practices.
  • Act as power user of product development technology such as Azure DevOps or Jira, and coach more junior Scrum Masters on optimal use of tools.
  • Apply working knowledge of waterfall/traditional project management practices to integrate waterfall teams and venders into the Agile portfolio, and encourage their steady transition into adopting Agile practices
  • Help coordinate vender and system integrator portions of inplementations,
  • Over time, develop deep functional knowledge of their teams' domain areas, including role appropriate understanding of the business, technical, and regulatory operating environment.
  • Perform Team and Portfolio level Delivery and Release Planning, and capacity and velocity projections.
  • Identifies, monitors, and coordinates interdependencies across multiple products/projects.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of work plans to determine the required tasks and resources.
  • Create schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
  • Support the portfolio management decision process through the creation of project charters, scope documents, risk assessments, and budgets (including both capital, expense, and O&M tails for projects)
  • Delivery and Monitoring:
  • Lead medium to large scale IT projects for a business unit within time, budget, and specification constraints.
  • Provides strategic direction of critical path milestones within project plans.
  • Monitors and communicate status to leadership. Communicate and incorporate feedback from customers.
  • Risk Identification, Action Planning, and Analysis:
  • Conduct business impact analysis both inside and outside the company and review findings with management of the critical business functions.
  • Develop, implement, and administer standards and procedures for recovery planning, security planning and documentation.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of recovery and backup capabilities.
  • May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
  • Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, and 5 years of related work experience OR 8 years of related work experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile Scrum Master (ASM)
  • Strong track record of on-time, on-budget, and to-specification delivery of projects
  • Ability to effectively execute an agile project.
  • Ability to manage relationships with internal business customers.
  • Proven experience leading and coaching teams in a complex or highly regulated environment
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP
  • 1 year+ experience working as, or closely with, traditional project management.
  • Experience leading teams though transition from traditional project manamgent into Agile
