Closing DatePosition Purpose General Function Safe Team Members can request to be assigned to a variety of student employee areas within Public Safety, but will be assigned according to the needs of the department. Areas include:
- Foot Patrol/Safety Escorts
- Parking Services Office
- Parking Enforcement
- Access Control
- Dispatch
- Records
Safe Team Members may be cross trained in many of these areas and will have the opportunity to gain a vast array of experiences. Job Duties:
- Foot Patrol - Consist of Foot Patrol/Escorts/Door Checks
- Day shift 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Night shift 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM
- Parking Services Office - Parking Office staff provide customer service in the parking office assisting customers purchasing parking permits, paying or appealing parking citations, answering phones, etc.
- 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Mon - Fri, some weekends
- Parking Enforcement: Enforce parking regulations on university property using dedicated software and license plate recognition
- Mainly 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, may include some evenings
- Dispatch/Surveillance Monitoring - Assist with answering phone calls, monitors campus cameras and assist dispatchers as needed
- Records Division -Assist the records department with requests and general office work
*Current openings as of April 1, 2024: Parking Services office, Parking Enforcement, Foot Patrol
Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent
Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Web Page Maintenance
Experience Must be an enrolled full time student with a minimum 2.5 GPA . Must maintain GPA per policy.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Police background check, Criminal History check, Fingerprinting, Driver's license
Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Knowledge of a University environment preferred, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Maintain confidentiality
Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Lifting (weight) - 50 pounds, Exposure to loud noises
