The Safety Administrator performs administrative and clerical duties in support of the Safety Department in accordance with company procedures and policies. The duties include data entry, record keeping, preparing and processing various documents, and maintaining files to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Monitors, analyzes and resolves all compliance and non-compliance including Driver qualification files, medical cards/physicals, Commercial Driver's Licenses/endorsements, annual driving records and the California DMV Pull Notice Program.
•Monitors driver qualification files during the hiring and selection process for compliance and accuracy with state and federal regulations.
•Processes Department of Transportation (DOT) required documents, driver new hire packets, company policies, Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR's), Clearinghouse queries, DOT background checks and pre-employment DOT drug screens.
•Maintains the California Pull-Notice and third-party DOT drug consortium per company policy, federal and state requirements.
•Provides assistance to employees regarding Safety Programs, training and driver credentials.
•Processes invoices by issuing requisitions and submitting check requests in NetSuite.
•Coordinates the distribution of truck binders for current and new assets and orders, distributes and keeps inventory on office and safety supplies.
•Tracks and maintains list for fire drills, driver meetings, and safety committee meetings conducted, prepares documents for filing and uploads records into shared folders.
•Manages safety files, training records including all documentation from driver training system.
•Serves as the Administrator for the fleet management system and maintains knowledge of updates, new features, releases, and training opportunities.
