Fidelity Health Care is seeking Safety Companions to work at our MVH and Atrium Medical Center location.
All shifts available.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Safety Companion is a paraprofessional member of the health care team who works under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform basic nursing tasks as assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
A Safety Companion must follow the rules and regulations of the facility. Interact with the patient, the patient's family, other disciplines, facility personnel, and Fidelity Health Care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must have obtained a high school diploma or completed GED equivalent.
* STNA or CNA certification required.
* Must display good physical and emotional health and be capable of stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Should also demonstrate good personal hygiene.
* Must be self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision and have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the patient, the patient's family and all other office personnel.
* Must have a sincere interest in and sympathetic attitude toward caring for the sick and disabled.
* Must meet all agency personnel policies and have reliable transportation to and from the facility.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Assists PCT and RN with care of the patient.
* Demonstrates knowledge of skin care including prevention, monitoring and reporting.
* Maintains accurate documentation in the Epic computer system.
* Meets the safety needs of the patient and uses equipment safely and properly (i.e.,assistive devices, oxygen and siderails).
* Follows all agency policies regarding infection control and employee safety.
