Job Description:

LHH Recruitment Solutions has a Safety Coordinator opening for our client in the Lewiston, ME area. This direct hire role allows you to collaborate with numerous departments to create, design, and resolve issues relevant safety concerns, inspections, trainings and foster a safety-first culture that is proactive. This on-site, extensive travel required, position requires a degree in safety management/sciences, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety and prefers candidate that have certifications such as CSP or CIH along strong background of at least 5 years' experience. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in dealing with FA/CPR, NFPA 70E, CSE as well as site audits, accident investigations and ARC Flash.

Salary range: $70,000 to $85,000 DOE.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously create, update, and implement EHS policies and procedures to remain in compliance with governing body regulations.
  • Create, maintain, document and audit KHS/JSA and SSSP.
  • Perform new hire safety training for Arc Flash, FA/CPR, NFPA 70E and CSE.
  • Creation, implementation, and documentation of training programs.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure hazard mitigation as well as potential hazards identification and removal.
  • Maintain adherence to EHS protocols, procedures and policies as well as recommending and implementing any necessary corrective actions.
  • Create, design, develop and implement ways to minimize environmental impact through waste mediation, conservation of energy and sustainable practices.
  • Develop, implement, and utilize root cause analysis regarding any incidents, accidents and near misses compiling documentation and implementation of any necessary corrective measures.
  • Creation of and implementation of emergency preparedness plans.
  • Remain up to date on all relevant laws and regulations and make any necessary corrections and implementations as needed.
  • Must be willing to travel to surrounding states and sites as needed.
  • Revise, maintain and document equipment testing schedule for rubber goods, hot sticks, grounds, and macs.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to remain organized, analytical while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and technical presentation and communication skills a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, safety management/sciences, Environmental Sciences.
  • Professional certifications – CUSP, CHST, CSP, Certified in Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are highly preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in an EHS Management role Required.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
