Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for a Safety Coordinator for the Arcadia Oriented Strand Board (OSB) facility in Simsboro, Louisiana.Arcadia OSB is located in the Sportsman's Paradise of Lincoln Parish in north central Louisiana. It is situated near Ruston and Grambling, Louisiana, home to Louisiana Tech and Grambling State Universities. The mill is located 20 minutes west of Ruston, 45 minutes west of Monroe, 55 minutes east of Shreveport, and an hour south of the Louisiana/Arkansas state line.We are seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, self-directed professional to provide safety support within our Arcadia OSB facility. This entry-level position reports directly to the site Safety Manager. The Safety Coordinator will assist the Safety Manager in establishing reliable methods for improving safety performance and nourishing a culture in which safety is an overriding value in all activities.*As a Safety Coordinator you will have the opportunity to:** Assist in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs and procedures to assure personnel and facility safety* Participate in monitoring and controlling organization's safety standards to ensure compliance with OSHA and State/Provincial regulations* Assist in the development and implementation of programs and record keeping systems to track and evaluate personnel injury and illnesses* Assist with internal audits and incident investigations and inspections of procedures, equipment, and materials* Assist with the presentation of Safety Training for production employees such as Lockout/Tagout, Emergency Response, and other annual required training* Support the Safety Manager and team leaders in implementation and execution of the Health & Safety Management system* Assist with Paired Safety Observation (PSO) program execution and work with team leaders to complete the PSOs* Work closely with team leaders to update and develop JSA's and SOP's as well as conduct annual reviews and revisions* Maintain detailed records and document hazardous conditions found and ensure remedial action is taken* Maintain supply inventories and personnel protection equipment* Uphold and be committed to professional ethical standards*The successful candidates will have demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:** AS/BA/BS in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline is strongly preferred* Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred* Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with all business groups to accomplish group objectives* Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and achieve goals in a timely manner* Communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing*About Weyerhaeuser *We sustainably manage forests and manufacture products that make the world a better place. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay.
