Job Description:
Overview The Risk & Safety Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Director of Compliance, Risk & Safety and assists with the coordination and promotion of the property's risk management program. This includes conducting safety inspections, claims investigation and processing, and The Coordinator is expected to make recommendations to the Director for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operations to minimize financial or reputational harm to the Company. Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the property's workers compensation and general liability claims (e.g., property damage, vehicle incidents, guest, and employee injury), which includes claims intake, investigation and follow-up as needed.
  • Reviews incidents to determine if appropriate preventive measures were in place and/or taken to mitigate future risks. Recommends solutions to minimize or prevent further exposure.
  • Coordinates, conducts, or assists with safety training programs and inspections to ensure compliance with all policies and standards.
  • Actively participates in monthly safety committee meetings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
    • Attend required training sessions offered.
    • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
    • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
    • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department.
    • Have knowledge of Golden Nuggets programs to address problem gambling.
    • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with Nevada Gaming Regulations and Minimum Internal Control Standards and Title 31.
    • Takes the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the Director.
    • Reports any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member of which they have knowledge.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
  • 1 Year previous experience in Risk and Safety
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Certified OSHA instructor for 10 and 30-hour classes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to operate conventional office equipment such as laptop or desktop computers, fax, phone, copiers, printers, and binding machines. Requires ability to see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require frequent sitting, walking or occasional standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching of items weighing as much at 25 pounds; near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work is performed in both office and company floor environments with occasional exposure to noise, chemicals and other hazards. Pay RangeUSD $18.00 - USD $19.00 /Hr.
