The position provides tactical support to each SavATree location in achieving our Path to Zero and Drive to Zero proactive safety programs.What a day is like:Daily focus on safety and compliance through identification and tracking of key metrics and ensuring the highest level of training is taking place in a timely basis for each key position in the organization. Partnership with local management teams and corporate executive leaders to clarify vision and expectations along with implementing steps to accomplish company initiatives. Review of accidents/incidents to identify root cause, trends and appropriate counter measures. Champion of DOT compliance, OSHA regulations and federal and local regulatory requirements.Essential Functions of the Role:
- The Safety Leader is responsible for overall Employee Health and Safety for the entire company.
- The Safety Director strategically leads the organization in terms of effective risk mitigation, health and safety, environmental impacts, safe driving practices, and loss prevention oversight and guidance.
- This individual will be required to build, drive and clearly communicate a thoughtful, collaborative safety strategy with the goal being a path to zero for Total Recordable Incidents.
- The Safety Leader will need to be a consummate partner with every level of the field organization, from our crews to our Regional Vice Presidents, often being in the field, at the point of work.
- Aside from strategy, the Safety Leader will track, report, manage, communicate and improve the overall safety key performance indicators across the business and in each region, in partnership with key stakeholders.
- This role requires both Daily Management of KPI as well as participation and thoughtful contribution to business Monthly Operating Reviews for markets struggling to drive improvement on their safety metrics.
- Involvement, development and closure of incident root cause analysis, including preventative countermeasures is a key part of the role. This may also require direct involvement with OSHA investigations.
- Strong partnership with the Fleet organization, inclusive of DOT investigations and audits, as well as safe driving practices is a core part of the role.
- Partnership, collaboration and alignment with our General Tree Care service line, trainers and teammates is a critical aspect of the role. This includes developing an industry level understanding of safety in tree care.

What kind of person are we looking for? Someone with:
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Occupational Safety or related studies or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 8 years of safety management experience at the manager level or above with multi-location and multi-state experience required.
- Proven ability to manage data and analytics, translate into business objectives, monitor and provide updates and report on outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to deliver presentations in-person or through webinar meetings.
- Proven ability to relate with, establish credibility and influence employees at all levels and full spectrum of safety sensitive positions.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable safety and health standards /laws.
- Expertise in state Workers' Compensation laws, disability management techniques and occupational medicine issues.
- Enthusiasm to lead and mentor team members.
- Valid current driver's license.

Compensation range is around $150k-$180k plus bonus annually based on experience.
