  • Contributes to the identification of goals and objectives. Reports measures/metrics to location, management, and parent company.
  • Conducts weekly, monthly, and annual site inspections and monitoring/sampling for Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, (SWPPP), and air permitting (SPDES). This includes management of our wastewater treatment plant which includes: monitoring programs, 3rd party testing, meetings with the City of Geneva POTW personnel, review of our Industrial User's Permit, responding to EPA audits, and establishing guidelines for quality assurance and compliance verification.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, OSHA, NEC, NFPA, EPA, NYSDEC and other applicable state, local, and federal regulatory agencies as requested or directed. Updates the compliance calendar and keeps legal team and location leadership team informed while keeping permits up to date and compliant. Develops, delivers, and coordinates training for these programs and regulations. Supports ISO 14001, 45001 & 50001 Certification program including documentation, reporting, and audits.
  • Works with tenant groups on hazard identification, evaluation, and control and appropriate risk assessment and risk mitigation. Performs internal audits and investigations and informs with corrective actions.
  • Develops and maintains facility programs such as Emergency response plans. Responsible for management of the respiratory protection program, confined spaces program, and electrical safety program (including LOTO) along with other high-risk processes/tasks. This includes the program, training, inventory, and assessments.
  • May serve as the facilitator of various SHE Committees and project teams, ensures committee members are authentically engaged in overall SHE management of the facility, and assists recording and distribution of meeting minutes.
  • Assists with investigations of incidents and injuries, root cause analysis, and return to work programs. YOUR SKILLS
    • B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related physical sciences.
    • Necessary further training Working knowledge of environmental and safety regulatory programs.
    • Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory compliance requirements to all levels.
    • Ability to independently perform work.
    • Knowledge and experience in State (preferably NYS DEC) and Federal OSHA and environmental agency requirements.
    • Self-directed and demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Routine problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work while managing multiple priorities.
    • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with employees and management.
    • Ability to work independently with little or no direction; self-starter with capability to stay on-task.
    • Develop and deliver presentations as necessary.
    • Work with internal customers as well as external vendors, contractors and company representatives.
    • EPA Hazardous Waste and DOT Hazardous Materials Trained/Certified or equivalent preferred.
    • Experience with on-site wastewater treatment operations is a plus.
    • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
    • OSHA Certified Training and ISO 14001, 45001, 50001 Certified Training a plus.
    • OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Certification a plus. The salary for this role is $75,000.00 - $95,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future. Henkel does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or employment agencies.
