We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to oversee and enforce safety policies and procedures across multiple job sites throughout Utah and Colorado. This role requires extensive travel, with over 60% of the time spent visiting various locations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and to promote a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader, committed to fostering a safe and healthy work environment, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all job sites comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across job sites in Utah and Colorado to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Training and Development: Develop, implement, and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors to enhance safety awareness and compliance.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of accidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Safety Program Management: Manage and continuously improve the company's safety program, including the development and updating of safety policies and procedures.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities, and prepare reports for senior management.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans for all job sites, and ensure all employees are trained on emergency procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure safety is a top priority in all operations.
- Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary contact with regulatory agencies and ensure timely and accurate reporting of safety-related information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role, preferably within the construction or industrial sector.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Proven experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and training programs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively (60%+) throughout Utah and Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification.
- Experience in multi-site safety management.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in various environments, including construction sites, which may require walking, standing, and climbing.
- Must be able to travel frequently and stay overnight as required.
