Overview:
Coastal Waste & Recycling is a leading provider of waste management services dedicated to maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. We are committed to excellence and safety in every aspect of our operations. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Safety Manager to join our team and ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance across our operations. This position will require over 50% travel.
Responsibilities:
At Coastal Waste & Recycling, safety is a core value, and the Safety Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that all employees return home safely each night. As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Accident and Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Training and Coaching: Coach and train district managers, supervisors, and frontline employees on injury and accident prevention. Provide training and support to management and behind-the-wheel instructors to ensure the effectiveness of the new hire program according to company guidelines.
- Safety Observations: Guide and train supervisors in performing thorough and effective safety observations.
- Program Support: Equip managers and supervisors with the tools and training needed for successful implementation of company safety programs and initiatives.
- Task Monitoring: Oversee the completion of corporate safety-related tasks to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Acquisition Integration: Support the integration of new acquisitions with a focus on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) functions.
- Operational Collaboration: Work closely with operations to ensure adherence to the companys health and safety programs across all locations in Northern FL, GA, and SC.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Safety Manager with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis. Experience in the transportation industry is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience Level: Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management, ideally within the waste management industry.
- License: Valid drivers license is required.
