Job Description: Construction Safety Professional
Location: Hermiston / Boardman, OR (on-site)
Salary Range: Starts at $100k (can go higher DOE)
Position Summary
The Construction Safety Professional is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and subcontractors on construction sites. This role involves implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Responsibilities
- Safety Plan Development: Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety plans for each construction project.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of job sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Hazard Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify and address safety hazards, including but not limited to:
- Falls from heights
- Electrical hazards
- Confined space hazards
- Material handling hazards
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Training and Education: Conduct safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors, covering topics such as OSHA regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and ensure that all personnel are trained in emergency procedures.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA standards and local building codes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incident investigations.
- Communication: Effectively communicate safety information to all project stakeholders, including management, employees, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in safety, construction management, or related experience
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical fitness to perform site inspections and handle emergency situations
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST / CSP certification
- Experience working on construction sites and being in the field
- First aid and CPR certification
- Flexible to work weekends / after hours depending on the construction schedule
