Position Summary
US Traffic Control, LLC is a rapidly growing company that provides traffic control products and services to clients throughout the state of NY. Our corporate headquarters is located within the Buffalo metro area in Tonawanda, NY.
The Safety Leader position will collaborate with the Helix Traffic Solutions Executive Vice President of Safety and Risk in developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of a continuous improvement safety culture for each US Traffic Control branded location.
Essential Functions
- Lead and improve the US Traffic Control safety initiatives by providing comprehensive training, safety awareness, administrative oversight, and timely incident reporting.
- Ensure that all company personnel are trained regarding safety specific functions such as flagging, safe driving, traffic control set-up, etc.
- Maintain training records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Conduct facility and project audits to evaluate and improve overall safety performance and risk reduction.
- Assist in obtaining information on all claims (Workers Compensation, General Liability, Auto, etc.) in accordance with established company and insurance carrier guidelines.
- Conduct or arrange safety training as identified.
- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and other administrative requirements related to safety operations for all locations.
- Administration/procurement of the Samsara GPS based vehicle program.
- Implementation and administration of a substance abuse testing program.
- Administration of contractor pre-qualification systems (Avetta, ISN, Browz, etc.).
- Foster and build professional relationships with customers, service providers, regulators.
- Other duties as assigned by the EVP of Safety & Risk.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid state issued driver's license subjected to MVR evaluation
- College degree or demonstration of working toward a college degree in safety/civil engineering a plus
- Total of 5+ years direct EHS experience (preferably in construction) with supervisory experience a plus
- General understanding of OSHA regulations, USDOT compliance and MUTCD/Traffic Control principals. Preference will be given to those candidates with MUTCD/Traffic Control experience/ knowledge.
- Professional certifications a plus (OSHA 500, CHST, ACSP, FA/CPR Trainer)
- Computer proficiency (MS Office - Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) required
- Working experience with insurance claims (data collection, reporting, claim reviews)
