POSITION OVERVIEW: • Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing the Graywolf Safety Program demonstrating management skills and the ability to manage all aspects of a project safety program. May be the lead safety manager on a project and will report directly to a Regional Safety Manager. Will demonstrate site management skills of a Safety Manager, with progressively increasing responsibility and authority. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Work as a leader in the job site safety department, functioning under the authority and direction of the Regional Safety Manager and directly supervise and Safety Specialists. • Daily, set exemplary standards of ethics and stewardship of Graywolf resources, support Graywolf beliefs, function as a team player and help maintain trust and communication • Conduct safety checks per policy and take all necessary corrective action to assist in elimination of hazards. • Spend 75% of the time in the field • Assist in writing, organizing and implementing jobsite safety plans • Review JSA's and provide feedback to assure continuous improvement • Work directly with the Site Production Manager and the management team to develop and implement and maintain an effective site-specific safety & environmental plan • Manage the Graywolf injury management program. Set up a working relationship with a local physician, explaining the Graywolf philosophy of managing accidents • Coordinate and present safety training to support Graywolf and client requirements, including planning, documentation, and presentation to include: New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory, and other accident prevention programs as appropriate. • Attend and participate in weekly general safety meeting, weekly supervisor's safety meeting, and PODs. • Assist in the creation of incident reports and Lessons Learned documents and assuring quality and accuracy. • Lead incident investigations to identify causal and contributing factors and finally root causes. Assuring corrective actions are identified and reporting progress to completion. • Maintain relations between Graywolf and clients regarding safety matters through effective communication • Track, compile, and report leading indicator performance through the SMS to the project leadership team and support initiatives to address negative trending • Coordinate with Regional Manager on overall program, project training needs, injury management, citation management, OSHA/MSHA reporting requirements, and other applicable matters • Administer drug and alcohol policy on site which includes specimen collection • Maintain jobsite first aid and emergency response supplies • Create notices of noncompliance for Graywolf employees and subcontractors • Understand all environmental permitting regulations and measures to ensure compliance EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • 5 years of relevant construction safety program management experience and have demonstrated the ability to provide a high level of safety leadership to both management and craft workers. (Desired) • Bachelor's Degree and CHST (Desired) • Must be willing to obtain CHST within one year of employment •Must possess OSHA Construction 30-hour card KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Functional computer skills and knowledge of the MS word, PPT and excel • Able to make power point presentations and spreadsheets as required to manage the safety program • Write reports with reasonable accuracy and appropriate grammar • Communication and report writing • Oversee and manage all aspects of a safety program on highly complex field projects, demonstrating exceptional management and leadership abilities • Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills, and written and verbal communication skills • Certification as an OSHA, MSHA and First Aid instructor is preferred • Commit to working towards Professional certification (CHST, ASP, etc.) within one year of start WORK ENVIRONMENT- FIELD • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration • Noise level in the work environment may exceed TLV PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions • Must be able to climb scaffold ladders and stairs as needed to access construction areas #LI-AC1
