Job Description:
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Safety Manager in BLOOMFIELD, New York. This role will be primarily focused on reviewing, advising, and initiating changes to our existing safety programs, conducting safety investigations, and coordinating employee training sessions. With a key emphasis on self-sufficiency, the role is situated in an industrial setting, with approximately 30% of the role requiring on-site presence.Responsibilities:- Oversee and enhance current safety programs, identifying areas of improvement and implementing necessary changes.- Conduct thorough safety investigations as required, ensuring all issues are promptly addressed and resolved.- Coordinate and deliver monthly employee training sessions on safety protocols and procedures.- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and guidelines.- Handle and coordinate classroom trainings, including but not limited to forklift operations.- Spend approximately 30% of the time on the plant site to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.- Manage safety incidents and investigations, ensuring all incidents are properly documented and resolved.- Maintain the necessary safety gear for on-site plant visits.- Operate independently, demonstrating the ability to problem-solve and take initiative in a busy environment.- Utilize knowledge of safety guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. Requirements - Must possess advanced knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations and safety guidelines.- Previous experience in a Safety Manager role is highly desirable.- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and influence others.- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety risks.- Must have the ability to develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.- Ability to effectively train staff on safety procedures and regulations.- Must have strong problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly in emergency situations.- Ability to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.- Proficient in using computer software and technology for record keeping and reporting.- Must have a proactive approach to health and safety in the workplace.- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field is preferred.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
