Schedule:
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week, first shift
Scope of Work:
Oversee safety operations for a mechanical contractor focused on commercial construction.
Main Office Location: Dayton, OH
- Oversee multiple projects spanning Columbus, Northern Kentucky, and Eastern Indiana- all within a 1-2 hour radius.
- Expected to be in the office 3 days per week and in the field 2 days per week. No overnight travel.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or related field.
- 7+ years' experience in construction or safety fields.
- Possession of or ability to obtain OSHA 30, 500, 502, 510, and CHST certifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA compliance in construction environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid, unencumbered U.S. driver's license.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain safety programs, ensuring team accountability.
- Oversee compliance with safety training programs and maintain BWC programs.
- Conduct and organize Safety Committee and related meetings.
- Analyze safety trends and communicate goals to leadership and team members.
- Provide advanced training to supervisors and develop safety recognition programs.
- Lead onboarding efforts, including emergency response and OSHA certifications.
- Investigate and report incidents, equipment failures, and accidents.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, BWC, and company safety regulations.
- Create and update safety handbooks and tracking programs.
- Participate in job bidding processes to ensure safety concerns are addressed.
- Ensure employees return home safely through consistent efforts to maintain a secure workplace.
Skills:
- Excellent public speaking and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- OSHA outreach training experience is a plus.
- Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
