Huntsville has 3 Police Precincts, approximately 500 sworn officers, 200 civilian personnel and patrols an area of around 220 square miles.Safety Patrol Aide Position Overview: Safety Patrol provides crossing guards for public and private schools. Crossing guards help ensure the safety of about 35,000 K- 12th-grade school children each day at hazardous or congested school crossing locations. This is responsible work in expediting the safe movement of pedestrians and vehicular traffic in school zones or during special events.
