**Safety Program Manager**
**_Hiring Salary Range: $84,500 - $126,800_**

The Safety Program Manager will be responsible for creating, implementing, monitoring, and improving safety programs and initiatives for Dairyland Power Cooperative. Measuring and meeting compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Collecting and analyzing safety related data, compiling, and organizing data into various reports.
**The Impact You'll Make in This Role:**
1. Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of company-wide safety processes and procedures, ensuring they protect workers from hazardous conditions and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety initiatives across all departments.
2. Develop and oversee comprehensive safety education and training programs, providing strategic direction and ensuring consistency in delivery. Coordinate and lead these initiatives, involving departmental leadership to ensure company-wide engagement and understanding of safety protocols.
3. Manage the corporate safety program by overseeing the distribution and continuous updating of the Safety Rules and Safety Practices Manuals. Lead the drafting and communication of local safety rules, regulations, and standards, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices.
4. Provide expert recommendations and strategic input on the development or revision of company-wide policies, practices, and standards, focusing on areas such as accident prevention, risk management, working conditions, safety equipment, and procedures. Engage senior leadership to implement these changes.
5. Conduct advanced assessments and audits of working conditions, operational procedures, construction methods, and maintenance techniques, ensuring not only compliance but also promoting proactive safety measures. Recommend and drive the adoption of new technologies, methods, and tools to enhance safety and efficiency.
6. Act as a key liaison with regulatory bodies and lead efforts to maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in safety and health regulations. Ensure compliance by advising leadership on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures, and by representing the organization at safety seminars, professional organizations, and industry forums.
7. Oversee the management of safety-related documentation and compliance records, ensuring accuracy and timely updates. Establish systems to monitor compliance with safety rules and regulations across all departments and report regularly to senior leadership.
8. Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for safety-related events, coordinating with departments to identify corrective actions and ensure that learnings are integrated into future safety practices.
9. Develop and track key safety performance indicators (KPIs), presenting regular reports and insights to senior leadership to drive accountability and continuous improvement within safety programs.
10. Other duties as assigned, with a focus on strategic safety initiatives and leadership in company-wide safety culture development.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** **:**
**Education & Experience** :
+ Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related field and 2+ years of experience with safety in an Electric Utility Industry. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
+ Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other safety certifications (CUSP, CLCP, etc.) preferred
+ Previous utility, renewable energy, and/or construction experience preferred.
+ OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Certifications preferred
+ Experience in Electrical Utility Equipment preferred (e.g., Substations, Transmission Lines, Underground Collection Systems, or other similar equipment)
**Skills**
+ Understanding and knowledge of regulatory health and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, FMCSA, NFPA, NESC etc.)
+ Demonstrated knowledge of Electrical Utility Distribution-Transmission Equipment functionality
+ Demonstrated knowledge of safety management programs related to electrical safety, including high voltage work practices
+ Ability to simultaneously handle a variety of safety & health projects and assignments and to bring an effective approach to the solution of technical objectives
+ Self-Motivated, high performer with ability to identify problems & come up with corrective actions
+ Demonstrated sustained high-level performance in safety & health functions with strong oral and written communication skills
+ Possess and maintain valid driver's license

**Other Job Characteristics** : Requires some overnight travel throughout the DPC service area. Ability to instruct and communicate to diverse groups of personnel, possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
