(Bilingual Spanish)-On-site Safety Specialist who will be responsible for the development and implementation of Safety Programs across our 2 sites. We are looking for a Safety Specialist who is committed to creating a culture of safety and compliance. We are looking for you to take charge of projects, under leadership of Director of QES, to develop and implement programs to develop that culture of safety and compliance. Job Duties

  • Creates, coordinates, and leads safety program.
  • Responsible for administration of our workers compensation claims and program
  • Develop site OSHA required training program. Implement the training directly or via a train the trainer approach.
  • Maintain records to ensure training coverage and ensure compliance to audit requirements. Evaluate trends for continuous improvement.
  • Investigate accidents to identify root cause, recommending sustainable corrective actions.
  • Leads safety inspection process for our sites, leveraging the management team or site safety committee.
  • Provide new employee health and safety orientation and enhance materials for this these presentations.
  • Coordinates actions of first aid and emergency response planning.
  • Formulates and interprets safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations. Creates, coordinates, and leads training programs and safety meetings.
  • Conducts inspections and audits throughout our manufacturing sites to identify and abate potential hazards.

Education

Bachelor s degree in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment or equivalent years of safety experience in manufacturing environment.

Experience & Skills Required

  • OSHA 30 General Industry, preferred.
  • Bi-Lingual English / Spanish, strongly preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Capable of working independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail.
