Pay Rate:
- Option 1: Direct Hire at $75-80K/year + 10% Bonus + Benefits (100% medical premium covered)
- Option 2: Contractor at $40-50/hr (ST for OT) + Holidays + Per Diem $115/day (7 days/week) + Mob/Demob (Expenses up to $1K each way)

The Safety Specialist will oversee all aspects of safety management, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies. The Construction Safety Specialist is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites. This includes identifying hazards, conducting safety training, monitoring safety performance, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. The Specialist will work closely with construction teams to implement effective safety practices and protocols, fostering a culture of safety throughout the construction process.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate those risks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and other relevant federal, state, and local safety laws and guidelines.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs for workers, supervisors, and managers. Topics may include fall protection, personal protective equipment (PPE), equipment safety, and emergency response procedures.
- Accident and Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses, determine their root causes, and recommend measures to prevent future incidents.
- Risk Management: Assist in the identification of potential safety risks and advise on safe work practices, hazard controls, and emergency response plans.
- Safety Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training programs, accident reports, and safety meetings. Prepare reports and presentations for management on safety performance and compliance status.
- PPE and Equipment Safety: Ensure that proper safety equipment and PPE are provided to workers and used correctly. Monitor equipment maintenance to prevent malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Safety Meetings and Communication: Lead or participate in regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to engage workers in safety awareness. Act as a liaison between site management and workers on safety issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest safety trends, technologies, and regulations in the construction industry. Suggest and implement improvements to enhance safety performance on the job site.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, First Aid/CPR, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP, CHST, CSMP) are highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum of five [5] years of experience in construction safety or a related field.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites and familiarity with construction activities, tools, and machinery.
- Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Familiarity with construction hazards such as heavy equipment, electrical, excavation, fall hazards and scaffold safety.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, emergency response planning, and injury prevention strategies
- Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct effective training and safety briefings.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify hazards and propose solutions.
- Proficiency with safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
