Job Description:
SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED
- Identify and inform management of DG compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through weekly, and monthly audits.
- Develop safe operating procedures and build internal document repository for dangerous goods documentation.
- Reach out to suppliers to gather regulatory compliance documentation
- Work with 3rd partly logistics vendors to ensure documentation, classification and labeling requirements are met.
· Maintain required paperwork to comply with regulations
· Enter Information in internal database in a timely manner
· Perform observations & audits
· Train and assist others (Area Managers, team members, etc.) to complete their responsibilities.
· Perform specific training as required by the Manager
· May have additional responsibility for emergency response, hazardous waste management, or other related activities depending on the business unit and location
· Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
· Ability to communicate and needs to all levels of the organization
REQUIRED SKILLS
Minimum of 1 year of work experience in an Environmental & (EHS) related field
Minimum Bachelor's degree in related field ( Environmental, hazmat, Safety)
Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity · Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the work place
PREFERRED SKILLS
Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a related field
Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
Experience analyzing data, gathering data and reviewing DG requests for potential concerns and conducting EHS training.
Experience in manufacturing
Experience with DOT regulations, RCRA
Experience with Hazmat regulations.
