Safety Compliance Specialist in Salt Lake County
We have an immediate opportunity for a Site Safety Compliance Specialist in the Salt Lake County area. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of day to day field operations for the projects in the telecommunication and power industry. The Site Safety Compliance Specialist serves as the company's point of contact for safety with owners and subcontractors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Safety Director in risk management, identifying potential hazards, recommending corrective action, employee safety training and emergency response procedures, and proper use of PPE.
- Requires the experience, knowledge, and skills in safety to administer, direct and manage compliance with the company safety program and incident prevention efforts.
- Perform and document job site inspections and audits.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance regarding safety and health requirements.
- Manage site safety documentation.
- Participate in safety pre-construction meetings.
- Facilitate mass safety meetings and required weekly tailgate safety meetings.
- Compile materials for safety meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes.
- Support the activities of the local health and safety committee.
- Effectively manage problem prevention strategies to limit reactionary practice.
- Heavy traveling throughout Mountain West.
- Company truck provided.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma and some college preferred.
- 3-4 years of experience in Construction Safety Compliance
- OSHA 30 required.
- OSHA 500 or 510 preferred.
- Additional safety certifications a plus.
- Valid Driver License with a clean record (Class A CDL preferred).
- Knowledge of Fall Protection and MUTCD standards, and DOT regulations.
- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to use MS Office with proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to write clear and concise thoughts in a professional manner.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Willing to travel.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Must be able to submit and pass a pre-hire and random drug test.
