As a Safety Coordinator, you will report directly to the Plant Manager and have control and authority over safety issues in the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and participate in monthly safety audits of all departments at the facility.
- Work with maintenance to address identified issues promptly.
- Lead safety enforcement and recommend disciplinary action for rule violations.
- Develop a proactive safety team that promotes safety as a core value.
- Track and follow up on all incidents and near-miss occurrences to prevent future incidents.
- Collaborate with management to ensure machine guarding is adequate and effective.
- Improve safety awareness through weekly supervisor-led safety discussions.
- Follow up on all safety-related work orders or improvements.
- Maintain knowledge of OSHA standards as they pertain to the company.
- Evaluate and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
- Provide training for lift trucks, fire extinguishers, and new-hire safety.
- Evaluate ergonomic working conditions to reduce sprains, strains, and repetitive injuries.
- Monitor working procedures for safety-related issues and potential improvements.
- Develop machine-specific Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and Job Hazard Analysis.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in safety management or related experience.
License/Certification:
- OSHA 30 Certification (Preferred).

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Flexibility and overtime required as needs arise.
Ability to Relocate:
- Relocation to Somerset, KY is required before starting work.
