Provides safe work places, inspects equipment, tests the quality of working conditions, and ensures overall safety of a work environment to increase productivity, prevent loss and lower insurance and worker's compensation claims. Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Incident Reporting: Responds to all safety-related incidents including, but not limited to, accidents and near misses. Informs supervisors on the occurrence of an incident immediately and details incidents, including what happened and the cause, in written reports. Ensures corrective action is taken, if necessary. Safety Meetings: Prepares and conducts weekly meetings related to safety for field employees and contractors. Participates in departmental daily project meetings to report on the status of safety issues, including but not limited to incident and inspection findings. Conducts a minimum of five one-on-one contact sessions with field employees discussing a safety issue, e.g., is employee wearing all required personal protective equipment or is employee following operational processes. Performs safety assessments of and coaching sessions with employees on location regarding areas of performance improvement and opportunities to decrease areas of risk. Department Reporting: Provides Safety Supervisor and department supervisor or superintendent daily written reports addressing safety issues within the department, including accidents and incidents, results of inspections, pending corrective actions etc. Compliance Inspection and Documentation: Inspects work areas daily and documents findings as per the OSHA, ANSI, IADC check list. Writes safety inspection summaries addressing hazards found and confirms with appropriate personnel to ensure actions are closed. Conducts daily safety observation tours of high risk activities such as work in BOP inspection, rig moves, zipper fracturing, and oil & gas services to verify employees are performing work in accordance with safe practices, company procedures and regulatory guidelines. Completes weekly rig or operational inspections to confirm all action on OSHA inspections is compliant.Record Keeping: Maintains detailed records demonstrating fulfillment of meeting, coaching session, incident reporting and inspection requirements for supervisor review.Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
