Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Summary:Under the direct supervision of the Director of Safety, and with close coordination with the assigned Shift Lead & Site Supervisor, the Safety Technician position will provide field observation and guidance on Safely executing work on the job site, and collect, prepare, and produce documentation of all related Safety reports to support company compliance with required and appropriate safety regulatory entities.
- Ensure all aspects of employee safety.
- Implement best practices and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
- Audit workers and work processes.
- Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
- Promote awareness of safety practices.
- Assist in investigations of all accidents as well as near misses.
- Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
- Assist in the investigation of all industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities
- Write and maintain reports of incidents.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings to aid in the education of all employees.
- Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and issuance of safety equipment.
- Investigate and address employee safety concerns including follow up on all identified hazards.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, to include 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926, 29 CFR 1904, and 29 CFR 1960 Maintaining recordkeeping for injury/illness cases in accordance with OSHA requirementsMinimum Qualifications 5 years industrial Safety experience Computer literate, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel Very self-motivated High degree of attention to detail. Team oriented - focuses on individual safety and system improvement. Ability to follow up on all action requests, assigned to vendors and co-workers. Industry practices and procedures. Collaboration and team building skills. Problem solving & collaboration skills.Education and Experience: Prefer either a 2 or 4 year degree in Safety or related field Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or related safety and health certifications are preferred.
