Posting: Open to PublicRate: $14.50/HrPosition Summary:Under the supervision of the Saganing Finance Supervisor, greet casino guests and provide guests with prompt, professional, friendly and courteous service. Provide excellent guest service when making change, cashing in coin, paying out COTs jackpots, and processing check and credit card transactions. Serve as a source of information for guests regarding, promotions, restaurants, entertainment, and other facility amenities and services. Follow the tribal gaming ordinance, laws, gaming regulations, internal controls, Title 31 Currency Transaction reporting laws, gaming winnings and taxes withheld reporting laws, departmental and company policies and procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain current knowledge of casino operations, promotions and events occurring throughout the facility and the appropriate team members to contact to provide accurate answers to any question.
  • Use sound judgment in dealing with guest complaints and contact management when encountering a guest dispute.
  • Perform cage/satellite window or vault duties as needed.
  • Maintain a bank to ensure a sufficient supply of currency and coins are available in appropriate denominations to pay COTs, chips, non-taxable jackpots, and exchange cash for guests.
  • Conduct accurate and timely cash transactions with external and internal guests.
  • Utilize the automated casino accounting software properly.
  • Pay jackpots within established limits; complete proper forms.
  • Count down bank and window at beginning and end of each shift.
  • Transfer monies or cash equivalents between banks, windows and vault.
  • Follow policy and procedures to maintain proper accountability of vault transactions.
  • Prepare daily deposits as needed/instructed when working in the bank.
  • Keep banks and windows stocked and balanced at end of each shift.
  • Maintain cash recycler inventories.
  • Conduct transactions for kiosks by supplying cash cassettes or coin for kiosk fills; complete proper forms. Assist with other kiosk duties as assigned (i.e. kiosk drop count, kiosk fills, etc.).
  • Verify and transfer soft count proceeds.
  • Issue cash tills to other departments.
  • Complete credit card and check cashing transactions for guests (i.e. e-checks, travelers checks, payroll checks).
  • Utilize Super Playmate program to provide guests with replacement Players Club card.
  • Attend guest special events when assigned (i.e., slot tournaments, etc.).
  • Promote teamwork between cashiers and other departments.
  • Practice established guest service procedures and safety procedures.
  • Safeguard casino assets; ensure casino house rules are being adhered to.
  • Observe guests and report suspicious activities to department and casino management, Security, Surveillance or Compliance including the improper use of COTs, the use of counterfeit monies, or other attempts to cheat the machines or other team members.
  • Follow departmental and company policy and procedure and all established gaming laws and regulations. Report any observed violations to department and casino management, Security, Surveillance or Compliance.
  • Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.
  • Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up spills and clutter, and keeping work areas organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
  • Contact with management and team members within the department, other departments within the casino, and the general public. The purpose for this contact includes problem solving, training, communication and maintaining high internal and external guest service levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Six months cash handling or cashiering experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic accounting, math, and record keeping practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of cashier operations and cash handling.
  • Skill in basic math operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to complete and pass Title 31 training and assessment.
  • Ability to operate a calculator, adding machine, and cash advance machines.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
  • Ability to work extended hours and various work schedules.
  • Ability to service guests in a professional manner.
  • Ability to follow instructions and abide by department, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle and maintain accountability of large amounts of currency.
  • Ability to operate a computer and all necessary programs, 10-key, and calculator.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment or handling of currency.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and squatting.
  • Occasionally lift/push up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
