Sales AgronomistLocation:Sharon, WIHours: Varies based on time of the year. Longer days are required in the Spring and FallBenefits:

Position Summary:Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with growers, understanding their unique needs, and recommending products and services that enhance crop production and profitability. A unique skillset of strong agronomic knowledge coupled with effective communication is needed for success in this career path. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing grower base. Along with expanding and creating a new customer base. Showing growth year over year.
  • Promote and sell agricultural products, including seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and equipment, to growers.
  • Educate clients on the benefits and proper use of products and services.
  • Assess fields and provide agronomic advice tailored to their specific needs, such as soil testing, crop rotation, and pest management strategies.
  • Utilize Agvance software to keep accurate records of all grower information including plans, bookings, blends, crop maps, etc.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing agronomic expertise and recommendations to address grower challenges.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' offerings.
  • Provide feedback to the company on market demands and emerging opportunities.
  • Set and achieve sales targets and objectives while managing a client portfolio.
  • Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales, and agronomic recommendations.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales activities and market trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel to grower farms and agricultural events.
  • Agronomic principles, crop production, soil science, and pest management.
  • Sales and negotiation skills.
  • Technical knowledge of agricultural products and equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, agriculture, or a related field (advanced degrees may be preferred).
  • Strong Agricultural background
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Willingness to work long hours, ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Self-motivated
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
