Job Description:

Penguin Random House is seeking a Sales Assistant to provide administrative and sales support to the team of field sales representatives located across the country, as well as to the Sales Director overseeing our field sales efforts. This group is responsible for the sales of all Penguin Publishing Group, Random House, Knopf Doubleday, and Crown titles to independent bookstores, as well as regional chains & wholesalers.   • Performs general administrative duties for the department and department head, including, scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars.
  • Navigates multiple internal and external systems to track sales and orders and runs daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Prepares Edelweiss collections, sales kits, and selling materials.
  • Responds to in-house and account inquiries.
  • Works with the Vice President and other department heads to create seasonal PowerPoint presentations, as well as manage ad hoc projects.
  • Communicates with various internal departments to obtain sales materials.
  • Coordinates the placing, fulfilling, and tracking of orders.
  • Assists with other projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Strong interest in sales and publishing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time
  • Superb analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong skills in Excel; knowledge of PowerPoint and Mailchimp a plus
The salary for this position is $48,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
