Position: Sales Assistant Department: Sales Reports To: President/Owner FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:30pmBenedict Sales & Service is looking for that perfect balance of friendly personality and business acumen for our Sales Assistant position at our Eau Claire branch office located in Altoona, WI! The Sales Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the sale team. The successful candidate will be able to prioritize tasks, set and achieve goals, and provide exceptional customer service in a fast paced environment; particularly during our peak season in the Summer months! Extreme timeliness, organization, kind approach, and accuracy are all must-have's in this role! This position does not have direct reports and performs work with direct supervision.   • Serves as a point of contact in the sales department to maintain a positive, productive open line of communication between the customer and all internal departments involved with the sales lifecycle.
  • Works with vendors to maintain up-to-date vendor information, obtain pricing and request quotes.
  • Initiates follow-up on proposals, communicates progress information with appropriate salesperson(s).
  • Provides customer service by responding to customer product & service questions, setting up customer accounts, processing customer orders, and verifying customer order accuracy.
  • Performs follow-up on ordered equipment to check delivery status, coordinate customer delivery and customer pick-ups and processes/follows through on any freight claims.
  • Coordinates subcontractors and out-of-town travel arrangements for installation projects.
  • Gathers, organizes, and forwards invoices and other billing information to appropriate salesperson(s) or customers.
  • Stays current on industry-related product lines and general industry knowledge through information seeking activities such as attending manufacture rep meetings and maintaining reference materials.
  • Assists sales team in maintaining showroom inventory/pricing and walks customers through showrooms when salesperson(s) are unavailable. • Maintains new accessory inventory (casters, gas hoses, faucets, etc.)
  • Enters and maintains information within ERP software.
  • Performs basic filing, recordkeeping, and office support tasks.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, assertiveness, versatility, and follow-through in responding to customer needs.
  • Sets and achieves individual goals and supports department goals by contributing to a team environment.
  • Demonstrates professional communication and provides timely and accurate information in all assigned duties.
Marginal Functions/Responsibilities
  • Supports AR with follow-up on customer account balances as needed.
  • Assists with generating work orders, dispatch, reception, and other administrative functions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by authorized personnel.
RequirementsEducation/Experience/Training Requirements
  • Associates degree, equivalent education or 3 years related administrative experience required.
  • Microsoft office proficiency required.
  • Experience with ERP software desired, SamPro and AutoQuotes background a plus

Physical Demands Stationary Position: Work is primarily light duty and involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk. Move: Occasionally required to walk between workstations, offices, conference rooms and other facility locations. Operate: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a phone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Frequently uses repetitive finger motion while typing on a computer. Ascend/Descend : Occasionally required to ascend/descend stairs to access all facility levels. Positions self: Occasionally required to bend and stoop to perform such duties as maintaining files. Communicate: Frequently communicates with internal and external customers using spoken word and the ability to perceive the natural sounds of normal speaking levels. Must be able to exchange accurate information through oral and written communication and make fine discriminations in sound. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Observe/Inspect: Able to observe details at close range, distance range, peripherally and with the ability to adjust focus. Frequently utilizes close visual acuity to perform computer duties and analyze data for accuracy. Transport: Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Exposed to: Not significantly exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
