Responsibilities

**What You Will Do**

Works in conjunction with sales and account managment professionals as a part of the sales and marketing team; provides high quality, proactive customer service in a responsive, consistent manner to prospective and in-force Sharp Health Plan employer groups. Performs functions such as servicing accounts and resolving problems to maximize account executives' field time and enhance renewal probability of Sharp Health Plan clients. Organizes and conducts open enrollment meetings and presentations for members.

**Required Qualifications**

* 1 Year Experience in sales support in the health plan/insurance industry

* Driver's License - CA Department of Motor Vehicles -REQUIRED

**Preferred Qualifications**

* H.S. Diploma or Equivalent

* Bachelor's Degree In related field

* Accident and Health Agent License, California - California Department of Insurance -PREFERRED

**Other Qualification Requirements**

* Utilizes reliable transportation and possesses adequate personal insurance coverage. Demonstrates clean driving record in accordance with requirements of the employer DMV pull notice program and Sharp HealthCare Driver Guidelines.

**Essential Functions**

* Account retention/increased renewal membership

Increase total SHP membership at renewal through successful proactive customer service.

* Completes other duties as assigned

Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned. These may include, but are not limited to, work groups, proposals, audits and back-up support for other departments.

* Maintain marketing goals

Achievement of SHP's Sales department's annual sales goals.

* Provides internal and external customer service

Provides prompt, accurate and excellent services to internal and external customers. Develops solid professional working relationships with various internal departments and units and, as required, vendors, providers, employers, brokers and/or other customers.

* Support of large group account executives and account managers

Helps manage large group book of business, large group prospects and brokers in conjunction with Sales team.

Provides ongoing support to Sales and Account Management staff.

Fields phone calls and e-mails from customers and problem-solves to effectively resolve issues.

Keeps logs of activity.

Assists with open enrollment meetings and health fairs as necessary.

Process plan specs, manages GSA process, updates Book of Business, and quote logs, etc.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

* Sound knowledge of Managed Care products, benefits, services, and underwriting procedures.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Excellent problem solving (cause/effect) capabilities with experience in developing and executing task-oriented action plans.

* Sound interpersonal skills which allows positive interaction with corporate customers, employee associations, and community brokers.

* Basic computer literacy (i.e., MS Word, Excel, e-mail).

* Excellent time-management and prioritization skills.

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment with continually shifting priorities.
