Overview: The primary duty of a Sales Associate is to promote Conn's products and financing options through excellent customer service. Sales Associates are responsible for assisting our customers through all aspects of the buying process. Sales Associates are experts in our products and financing services with product categories including electronics, appliances, furniture, mattresses, and more and are expected to be creative in offering solutions to each customer's needs and overcoming objections. Sales Associates are required to work closely with store personnel to ensure store metrics are delivered in conjunction with a positive shopping experience. Must be comfortable interacting with customers, vendors and other third parties, often spending long periods walking around the store to answer questions about products or services.Key Duties & Responsibilities: The Sales Associate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide face to face assistance to customers through the buying process to include merchandise selection, payment, finance options, pick up and deliveries.Complete daily telephone calls to existing and potential customersGenerate new sales from our wide range of business servicesSupport colleagues and contribute to a positive and team focused environmentAbility to assist with merchandising and in store set up, which includes but is not limited to moving, building, cleaning, and maintaining showroom components.Deliver superior customer service as per company standardsMaintain awareness of current advertised merchandise and promotionsCollaborates with external and internal partners to identify and resolve customer issuesDevelop and maintain sales materials and product knowledge across a wide range of categoriesEstablish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationshipsDeliver on key metrics and sales goals at set by the company monthlyMaintain confidentiality and comply with all credit policies, procedures, and government regulationsAbility to maximize each sales opportunity by offering all applicable services, products, and attachments during all customer interactionsPerform all job functions with a high degree of integrity and honestyFollow Conn's 5 Steps of the Sale for all transactions per company guidelinesComply with reasonable requests from management to perform other duties and responsibilities not listed aboveRequired Experience:Reading, writing, and arithmetic skillsHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalencyPreferred Experience:Appliance, Furniture or Electronic sales experienceCustomer Service backgroundExperience within a retail organizationSkills & Abilities:Strong interpersonal and communication skillsOutgoing, engaging, and passionate demeanor willing to interact with customers both in person and over the phoneMust be goal oriented and self-motivated, organized and detail-orientedWelcoming and helpful attitude toward customers and other associatesAbility to listen, convey a product's benefits, exude confidence and self-assuredness to all customersAble to multi-task and shift priorities, as requiredMaintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the publicThorough follow up and negotiation skillsAbility to overcome objections and influence customer behaviorLearn and adapt to current technology needsWork both independently and with a teamCoachable and open to feedbackAble to learn selling skills and to operate company programsWillingness to work a flexible schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays); regular attendance is necessaryWorking Conditions:Work is performed in a retail store environment.Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time, packing, and lifting boxes for shipment, storing inventory, and using tech equipment and computers.Handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds or moreConn's is PROUD to be an equal opportunity employer. #LI-SG1
