Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Sales Director - Amazon - CPG. This is a non-apparel role specifically focused on handling Amazon. In this position, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and market share within the Amazon marketplace. You will lead the strategy and execution of sales initiatives for our portfolio, ensuring that our brands achieve their full potential on one of the largest and most dynamic e-commerce platforms. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of Amazon's ecosystem, and a proven track record in sales leadership within the toy industry. This role can be based on the East Coast preferably for timing with headquarters. There will be travel to headquarters as needed and also to Amazon Corporate.
  • The salary range for this role is 150-160k BOE.
Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies tailored to Amazon's platform, including forecasting, assortments, promotions, site maintenance, and product placements.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Amazon's account managers and other key stakeholders to influence decisions and secure favorable terms for our products.
  • Sales Performance: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, including sales volume, conversion rates, and ROI. Adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the toy industry on Amazon.
  • Product Listings: Oversee the creation and optimization of product listings to ensure they are compelling, SEO-friendly, and aligned with Amazon's best practices.
  • Promotional Campaigns: Plan and execute promotional campaigns, including Amazon Ads and Lightning Deals, to drive traffic and increase sales.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure product availability and timely fulfillment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to ensure a cohesive approach to product launches and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales and working with Amazon E-Commerce. Experience in CPG or the toy industry a plus.
  • Proven track record of success in managing and growing sales on Amazon or similar e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Amazon's platform, including its algorithms, tools, and advertising solutions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Amazon Vendor Central.
  • Knowledge of toy industry trends and consumer behavior.
  • Familiarity with Amazon's promotional tools and advertising options.
