We are currently working with a thriving sports business looking for a Sales Director to join their team at their Wisconsin Dells location.What's the role?The Sales Director role is responsible for leading the sales team to meet and exceed their goals including hiring, maintaining, and coaching the sales team in selling apparel, equipment, events, and software to the school and sports markets. They are responsible for the financial health of the company by driving revenue across all target markets. The main objectives of the role include:
  • Recruit and train sales talent. Maintain a hardworking and successful sales team that meets and exceeds KPI's.
  • Set sales goals and aid in developing strategies to better serve customers.
  • Review customer activity, and anticipate seasonal, event-based, and future needs to take advantage of opportunities.
  • Monitor the market and industry trends.
  • Is an active ambassador of the company including participation in community, tradeshow, industry, and networking events to build the company brand and develop new relationships to result in increased sales.
What experience and skills do I need to be successful?There are a few key qualifications for this role:
  • Passion for sports is a must- if you played, coach, or are just an avid fan it is essential you are excited about the products and services you will be selling.
  • Demonstrated success in previous sales roles resulting in a strong foundation in understanding the sales cycle, prospecting, building client relationships, and closing the deal.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching abilities; 2 years or more of experience leading teams, preferably managing and growing a sales team.
  • Passion for building long-term relationships with team members and clients.
  • Thirst for learning. Continually improving sales and management techniques.
  • Ability to recognize and act on sales opportunities.
  • Current network and relationships built in the Wisconsin sports community are a huge plus but not required.
  • Experience working in sports or a related industry is a huge plus but not required.
What will my schedule look like?This role will work its core business hours Monday-Friday 8:30a-4:30p. Generally, no travel is expected except for the occasional tradeshow or event. This role will remain based in the Wisconsin Dells but has the potential for some hybrid/remote work flexibility after the initial 6 months of getting to know the business.Where is it?This is an onsite role based in beautiful Wisconsin Dells, one of the top destinations in Wisconsin. Whether a family that gets to live in the water park capital of the world with hundreds of activities to explore or the professional seeking a place with great restaurants, spas, golf courses, concerts, and local breweries, you will find your fit in the greater Dells area. Perks and Benefits:This position pays a competitive base salary with bonus incentives tied to performance and sales. It also includes medical insurance (employer pays 50% of premium,) paid time off (PTO,) and a 401K plan with a full match up to 3% and a half match to 5%.
