Summary: The Sales Director is responsible for driving the sales strategy, growth, and profitability of the company's slab/countertop and flooring products in the Long Island, Queens and Bronx NY territory. This role includes developing and executing sales plans, managing a team of sales professionals, and building strong relationships with customers, distributors, and vendors. The Sales Director will lead efforts to expand market share, improve customer satisfaction, and ensure the company's products meet the highest standards of quality and service.
Work hours:Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 2 Saturday a month.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Lead Sales Strategy and Execution:Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for slab and flooring products, aligning with the company's overall business goals. Direct efforts to meet or exceed sales targets and profitability objectives.
- Sales Team Management:Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of sales professionals. Provide coaching, performance reviews, and training to ensure team members achieve their sales goals and consistently meet customer expectations.
- Customer Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and vendors to foster long-term partnerships. Monitor customer feedback and work with internal teams to resolve any issues or concerns promptly.
- Market Analysis and Business Development:Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, trends, and areas for growth in the slab and flooring market. Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and expand product reach, while maintaining a focus on customer needs and satisfaction.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting:Prepare and present detailed sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and analysis of sales performance. Use data to refine strategies, adjust tactics, and ensure the team is on track to meet or exceed sales objectives.
- Collaboration with Operations and Product Teams:Partner with operations, logistics, and product development teams to ensure product availability, timely deliveries, and seamless execution of sales agreements. Ensure inventory levels meet demand and manage stock levels effectively.
- Training and Development:Develop and deliver training programs on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service for the sales team. Ensure all team members are well-versed in product features, competitive advantages, and customer-centric selling.
- Brand Positioning and Marketing:Collaborate with the marketing department to develop materials and campaigns to promote slab and flooring products. Support marketing efforts to increase brand awareness and drive demand for the company's offerings.
- Monitor Sales Performance and Adjust Tactics:Track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales volume, margins, customer acquisition, and retention. Adjust tactics as necessary to stay on track to meet or exceed sales objectives and achieve business growth.
- Negotiate and Close Deals:Lead negotiations with key customers and distributors. Ensure contracts and agreements are aligned with company objectives and financial targets. Ensure a high rate of deal closure while maintaining excellent customer relations.
- Perform Additional Duties as Required:Assist with other strategic initiatives as directed by senior management to further the company's business objectives.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of the countertop and/or flooring products industry, including materials, finishes, applications, and market trends.
- A demonstrated ability to lead and grow a sales team in a highly competitive and dynamic industry. Experience managing multi-million-dollar sales pipelines and achieving revenue growth targets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to negotiate effectively, resolve conflicts, and present ideas persuasively to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze sales data and market trends, interpret customer needs, and create actionable plans to drive growth and profitability. Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
- Ability to make decisions in high-pressure situations, resolve conflicts, and find creative solutions to complex challenges. Strong judgment and decision-making skills in both strategic and tactical contexts.
- Ability to travel 50-75% locally as needed to visit customers and occasional travel to trade shows, and regional offices.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sales leadership, preferably within the countertop, flooring, or construction material industries.
- Proven success in managing a high-performance sales team and achieving substantial revenue growth.
- Strong knowledge of sales principles, CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
