About the Role The Data Center Sales Engineer will develop and administer cost estimates for projects utilizing Tate products as well as cost estimates for new products via prototyping and manufacturing analysis. The Sales engineer will coordinate with the sales team and other outside customers to clarify design requirements, develop product solution to fit design requirements, develop initial bill of material with cost data and communicate overall scope of work to the Sales representative. What You'll Do The Data Center Sales Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Develop and administer cost estimates for projects utilizing Tate products as well as cost estimates for new products via prototyping and manufacturing analysis. The Sales engineer will coordinate with the sales team and other outside customers to clarify design requirements, develop product solution to fit design requirements, develop initial bill of material with cost data and communicate overall scope of work to the Sales representative.
  • Assemble or develop project specific shop drawings for submission to Customer, to confirm extent of scope covered in the quotation and to illustrate design intent.
  • To prepare project specific shop drawings for product layout and installation details that accurately reflect the intent of the contract drawings. Communicate with customers to gain insight on questionable details so that an accurate representation of layout are met.
Also,
  • Facilitates communication among the sales team, clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Evaluates construction drawings and specifications to provide product recommendations that meet project requirements.
  • Interprets project needs from Sales Managers and communicates feasibility, lead times, and potential challenges.
  • Creates quotes for new design and maintains design history throughout quoting process.
  • Provides application engineering support for existing and future products designed to support the Mission Critical/Data Center space and containment solutions.
  • Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
  • Identifies trends in Data Center design and helps guide R&D in the development of new products to respond to market requirements.
Additional Expectation
  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You'll Bring
  • 4-year degree in the Engineering field with at least 2 years' experience required.
  • Zero to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in reading construction documents and estimating prefered.
  • General knowledge base of server technology and associated hardware required.
  • Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Teams).
  • SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Revit experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
