Summary

This role is pivotal in leveraging data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and optimize sales performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of sales finance, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Utilize advanced analytics techniques to analyze sales data, market trends, and performance metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to sales leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, trade spend optimization, and efficiency improvements through data-driven analysis.

Forecasting and Planning:

  • Lead the refinement of sales forecasting models and processes.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and S&OP team to create accurate sales forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and promotional activities.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning.

Financial Modeling and Reporting:

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate sales initiatives, pricing strategies, and ROI in collaboration with the VP of Revenue Management.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, variance analysis, R&O tracker, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies in financial reporting.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to align strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • Partner with IT and data teams to enhance data infrastructure, automate reporting processes, and streamline data integration.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on sales finance analytics, providing guidance and training to cross-functional teams as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in sales analytics methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in sales finance analytics and data management.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance analytical capabilities and deliver greater business value.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS), is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales finance, business analytics, or FP&A roles within the CPG industry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Power BI); experience with trade promotion tools a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite Oracle, SAP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Proven track record of driving business results through analytics and strategic thinking.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not currently have direct reports.

Work Environment

Under normal operations, this position operates in a hybrid environment (home and in-person). This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
