Omni Interlocken Hotel is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our outstanding Sales & Marketing team! This vital role will facilitate all aspects of a group booking from initial client contact to conception to execution.
Salary for this position is based on experience, and starts at: $62,000 - $68,000/year plus sales incentive eligible up to 25%. Full Time Associates at Omni Interlocken Hotel are entitled to elect the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and other healthcare benefits, Paid Maternity Leave, 401k and Paid Time Off Accrual. Omni Interlocken Hotel reserves the right to pay more or less than listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race.

Responsibilities:
- Achieve lead goals as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing
- Responsible for booking small groups
- Merchandise function space and attain maximum room rental wherever appropriate.
- All proposals and contracts to be delivered within 24 hours
- Continuously refine product/concept offering.
- Maintain aggressive weekly phone/site solicitation.
- Active involvement in industry-related activities.
- Achieve budgeted room night, rate, and rev goals.
- Monitor reader board service for new sources of business.
- Promote a high-quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
- Regularly visit adopted hotel (competitor) and report findings.
- Solicitation of direct selling in the assigned market.
- Follow-up and process group blocks related to Catering Events.
- Update and increase client prospects through active prospecting
- Maximize revenues for the hotel through up-selling techniques.
- Maintain files and current trace dates, accurate history, and all relevant booking activity.
- Is current and abides by all sales office procedures and standards
- Effective communication to ensure repeat bookings.
- Foster strong relationships with the local industry partners
- Prepares and reviews resumes for groups. Ensures all departments receive necessary information pertaining to the group.
- Conduct pre-planning meetings to include necessary departments when requested by client.
- Entertain clients in a professional manner to establish closer working relationships.
- Initiates the method of payment process and assist the credit manager in all accounting procedures.
- Collects information to create master account estimates 90 days and 21 days prior to conference/event.
- Attends required meetings including morning and afternoon Stand-Up Meeting, BEO Meeting, Forecast Meeting and Department Staff Meeting.
- Conducts pre-conference meetings with meeting planner and all appropriate department heads.
- During conference, will ensure the meeting arrangements are to the meeting planners specifications. Ensures all on-site changes are managed efficiently.
- Available to meeting planner during conference through phone, email, and in person to trouble shoot any questions that arise.
- Arranges for post-conference meetings with the meeting planner and the Executive Committee when requested.
- Must be knowledgeable about all hotel capabilities (front desk/reservations/room service/catering).
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- College degree preferred.
- Certified Meeting Planner preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year hotel sales/catering experience and/or successful completion of Omni LID program.
- Knowledge of the operations of the hotel industry.
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.
- Command of the English language both written and verbal, with the ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy when engaging with others.
- Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills.
- Requires knowledge of advanced sales techniques.
- Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook. Delphi experience preferred.
- The ability to delegate, effectively train and coach
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
