Job Description:

Stewart Superabsorbents is the premier provider of Super Absorbent Polymers and we are looking for an experienced and energetic Sales Manager for our medical and consumer products that can work independently.

This is a remote outside sales position that can be located anywhere in the US with preference given to candidates in the Midwest.

The Sales Manager will manage current and potential customers in North America with a focus on medical and consumer product manufacturers and the sales channels that support them. Experience in the following industries is desired: medical fluid management, commercial cleaning supplies, paint products, puppy pads, hygiene, and nonwovens.

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years experience selling into the consumer or medical products industry and be familiar with industry terminology and regulations.

Candidates must be self-directed, able to work effectively and independently and as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet or exceed sales targets within assigned business accounts by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within the customers' organization.

In collaboration with the Sales Director, negotiate pricing and contract terms with current and potential customers to achieve profitability goals.

Provide technical and applications support to our customers on the utilization and handling of our products.

Work closely with our plant personnel, marketing, technical service, and customer service departments to meet customer's expectations on quality of our products and service.

Develop a key understanding of competitive threats and correlate sales planning and activities to combat these threats by establishing extensive knowledge of competitive pricing and cost of alternatives.

Work with Sales Director to formulate, develop, prioritize, and implement territory strategies, penetration, and business goals and objectives.

Maintain company contact information and document all sales calls, customers visits and business opportunities and customer/project profile information as needed in CRM.

Participate in the preparation of annual and long-term sales budget and operating plans.

Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts

Attend and present at sponsored meetings and training activities.

DUTIES

This position requires the individual to manage multiple priorities to maintain and grow existing customers and attract new clients including making cold calls, setting appointments, and visiting clients face to face.

Typical calls include communicating with R&D, product managers, procurement, and other key decision makers. The client base primarily includes consumer product manufacturers, big box stores, and OEM sales channels that supply them.

  • Prospect and convert leads into customers
  • Achieve monthly sales quotas/budgets
  • Review, understand and use monthly revenue and receivable reports
  • Maintain daily awareness of sales activities and results

QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate university degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Business Administration required.

Minimum of five years progressive sales to the consumer or medical products industry.

High personal savvy with a wide range of people and able to earn the confidence of new and existing customers.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills (written and verbal).

Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.

Will travel up to 50% of the time.

Strong analytical and computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
