Moonbug brands extend far beyond the screen to include streaming music, toys, games, books, live events, and even theme park exhibits. This role is based in our New York office, and must be willing to work on a Hybrid schedule.The RoleAs a Sales Planner, you will play a critical role in supporting our ad sales efforts by developing strategic media plans for clients, ensuring alignment with their business goals and KPIs, and managing the pre-sale process. You will work closely with sales directors, clients, ad operations, client success, and research teams to create tailored solutions that resonate with our audience and maximize revenue. This role involves preparing for client meetings, building strategic media plan recommendations, presenting in a client-facing capacity, managing key relationships, and ensuring smooth execution of sold campaigns.Key Responsibilities:Pre-Sale Support:
  • Strategic Media Planning:
    • Develop customized media plans and strategies for clients to ensure effective audience targeting and achievement of KPIs.
    • Work closely with sales directors to craft compelling proposals that align with client goals, recommending the best use of inventory, content, and media channels.
    • Provide recommendations on how clients should allocate their ad spend to maximize reach and engagement with Moonbug's audience.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (i.e.: operations, content, research) to ensure alignment on available inventory, plan viability, creative opportunities, and audience insights.
  • Client Research & Insights:
    • Conduct research on client businesses, industries, and key competitors to inform strategy and uncover insights that drive client success.
    • Work with the research team to identify target audience segments and consumer behavior trends that can be leveraged to enhance client proposals.
  • Pitch Materials & Presentations:
    • Prepare impactful sales decks, proposals, and media plans for client meetings, ensuring clarity and visual appeal.
    • Present media strategies to clients, addressing their needs and aligning proposed solutions with their objectives and business goals.
    • Act as a key client-facing representative of Moonbug, networking and building relationships within the industry.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management:
  • Client-Facing Support:
    • Support sales directors in client meetings, providing expertise on media planning, audience insights, and strategic recommendations.
    • Assist with post-meeting follow-ups, addressing client questions, and refining proposals based on feedback.
    • Ensure smooth and effective communication between sales and client teams, maintaining strong relationships throughout the pre-sale process.
  • Package Development & Creative Solutions:
    • Work with sales and content teams to develop and recommend creative packaging of Moonbug's inventory (e.g., video content, branded integrations, sponsorships) to enhance client media plans.
    • Propose and develop innovative integrated marketing programs that offer special value to clients and extend Moonbug's offerings.
Campaign Oversight & Coordination:
  • Post-Sale Transition & Oversight:
    • Ensure a smooth transition from pre-sale to post-sale by overseeing the execution of campaigns.
    • While less hands-on during the post-sale phase, you will monitor the campaign lifecycle to ensure campaign success, collaborating with operations, client success, research and content partnerships teams to resolve any issues and optimize delivery.
    • Act as a point of contact alongside client success for post-sale client inquiries, overseeing communication and ensuring campaigns meet or exceed expectations.
Collaboration & Team Support:
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with operations to manage inventory availability, explore potential alternative solutions, and ensure that client needs can be met within the scope of available assets.
    • Partner with the research team to provide clients with relevant audience insights, ensure that campaigns are optimized to reach the right target demographics and develop bespoke research solutions and brand lift studies to measure campaign effectiveness.
    • Coordinate with content and partnership teams to explore new opportunities for client campaigns and integrated programming.
Requirements
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media, Business, or a related field.
    • 3-5 years of experience in media planning, sales operations, or ad sales, preferably in the entertainment, media, or children's content sectors.
    • Proven track record in creating strategic media plans, working with clients, and supporting sales teams in a client-facing role.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong understanding of digital media, advertising, and audience targeting strategies.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present and engage clients confidently and professionally.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across internal teams, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Proficient in media planning tools, CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), and Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides)
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to handle multiple projects at once while ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with YouTube advertising and/or children media, including video content distribution and advertising sales.
    • Familiarity with ad sales processes and understanding of how to create innovative media solutions for clients.
