Currently, we are seeking a Service Sales Engineer-Fire Protection to join our Service Group! As a Service Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for the sale of Cannistraro service offerings to director-level building owners. This role will use their technical knowledge of Fire Protection Systems and codes to maintain and expand the sale of Cannistraro Service offerings to new and existing clients. In this role you will:
  • Qualify leads and opportunities.
  • Respond to all sales leads in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for converting construction installation projects to service customers by providing preventative maintenance and inspection services agreements as well as break/fix solutions to the end user.
  • Account management activities to maintain/increase service revenue with existing customers.
  • Visit customers to document on-site systems, equipment, and contact information.
  • Create estimates and service solution proposals for new or additional services.
  • Follow up on previously submitted quotes with site visits or calls to secure business, overcoming customers objections, issues, or concerns.
  • Verify accurate customers information, equipment, and scope of work for clients and projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and stay in touch with them to ensure we are getting opportunities to quote on their fire protection needs.
  • Coordinate with operations team to ensure that the correct parts are being ordered for quoted repair jobs.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with technicians and office staff to facilitate effective communications and exceptional customer service.
  • Continually learn all aspects of all products, programs and services offered by J.C. Cannistraro.
  • Qualify leads and opportunities with the customer, technician, and/or Account Manager.
  • Exhibit the value of competencies for the company, department, employees, and business partner.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by adhering to policies and procedures set out by the department.
A successful candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of Fire Protection Industry experience.
  • Ability to understand, research, and complete inspections in accordance with NFPA 25 The standard for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems.
  • Trade School, Certificate, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to presentation to small and large groups in an effective manner.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to review fire protection testing and inspection reports.
  • Knowledge of fire protection equipment and brands.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook (E-Mail and Calendar).
  • Ability to learn applications used in preparing necessary documents (experience in database programs preferred).
