Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs that empower sales team members with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to excel. Working closely with leadership, you will identify training needs, oversee onboarding processes, and ensure the continuous development of the sales team. Frequent travel within the Mankato division territory will be required.A Day in the Life of a Sales Training Manager:
- Collaborate with sales leadership to assess training needs, identify skill gaps, and develop tailored solutions to address them.
- Partner with the Sales Team Advisor and Sales Leads to implement training programs, conduct in-field coaching, and provide ongoing support.
- Lead the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and comprehensive training to accelerate their productivity.
- Act as the subject matter expert for sales technologies, analytics tools, and selling platforms, training team members to maximize their use.
- Foster a positive team environment by building morale, motivating employees, and promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Contribute to hiring and selection processes, ensuring the team is staffed with highly qualified and competent professionals.
What does it take to be the Sales Training Manager?
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry or a distribution environment.
- Proven supervisory experience, with a track record of leading and developing teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as scheduling and timekeeping systems.
- A commitment to staying updated on sales trends and training methodologies.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record, as travel is a key component of this role.
