The SalmonCorps Program Executive Director (SPED) is responsible for all aspects relating to the management of the Yakama Nation's AmeriCorps grant. This includes development of AmeriCorps program policies and documentation procedures; training of program staff, members, and supervisors at the partner agencies; maintenance of complete files that meet regulatory requirements; tracking of performance measure data and support of program evaluation; completion of all AmeriCorps reports and management of data in eGrants; and drafting of federal grant applications. The position is full-time and will be assisted by a full-time Project Director. Examples of Work Performed: Train program staff, members. and project site supervisors on AmeriCorps program policies and regulations. Coordinate trainings, handbooks, contracts, and communication with AmeriCorps members and within Fisheries projects and sites. Participates in program team meeting and debriefs as appropriate. Develop and present pre-interview webinar for applicants. Prepare and implement member enrollment process and paperwork including taking a lead role in completion of criminal historic checks. Prepare and implement timely completion of all required exit paperwork. Participate in selection and placement process by screening applicants, answering Salmon Corps specific questions, and updating AmeriCorps content with documents. Work with Program staff to determine which placements are designated AmeriCorps placements and make adjustments as needed. Provide life after AmeriCorps resources, including AmeriCorps Alums membership and how to access the AmeriCorps education award. Manage enrollment and communicate for Member Assistance Program. Develop and coordinate Program Basics training for Orientation, which includes AmeriCorps Basics, performance measures, timesheets, reporting requirements, allowable and prohibited activities, Member Assistance Program. etc. Support in updating AmeriCorps program-specific website materials (e.g., update AmeriCorps FAQ, pre-interview webinar, etc.). Oversee data input into OnCorps system (timesheets, direct service activity reports, volunteer mobilization, and great stories). Monitor partner project supervisors and sites within FRM including conducting orientations for project site supervisors. Ensure appropriate paperwork and data input is completed for sites throughout the year, including site supervisor contracts, member evaluations, mid-term and annual performance evaluations, and timesheets. Oversee administration of agency site monitoring tool by Program Coordinators (PCs) during fall area visit and follow up on site issues throughout the year. Develop content for site supervisors' group meeting during PCs' winter area visit. Collaborate with Leadership team including AmeriCorps Program Officer, Grants Officer, and other CNCS staff to ensure that all grant applications, performance reporting, and evaluations are completed on a timely basis. Maintain relationships with AmeriCorps and State Commissions by attending monthly CNCS National Direct update calls, quarterly commission meetings, and regional events and Program Director calls as needed. Attend all national and regional AmeriCorps service program trainings. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of tribal history within the Columbia River Basin and familiarity with the Treaty of 1855. Knowledge of the traditions, culture, and natural resource progams and policies of the Yakama Nation. Knowledge of the life histories and interactions of salmon, sturgeon, Pacific lamprey, and other fishes of the Columbia Basin. Ability to work as a team member and independently. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully both orally and in writing. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups while effectively representing the treaty reserved rights and fishery interests of the Yakama Nation. Ability to give oral presentations to scientific and policy groups regarding the results of ongoing programs, studies and analyses associated with hydroelectric dam operations and effects on fishery resources. Ability to travel extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest and operate a Tribal GSA vehicle in a safe and appropriate manner. Ability to express a self-motivated and positive approach to identifying and completing the activities necessary to perform the work associated with this position. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science in fisheries Science, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field. Two years of professional supervisory experience. Must pass a pre-employment background check. Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit. Required to pass a pre-employment drug test. Preferred Requirements: Have experience working with youth. Ability to communicate with youth. Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
