Position Description: The Sanitation Laborer will maintain sanitary condition of equipment by following effective sanitation methods to meet regulatory requirements, with a safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety-culture for the benefit of the company and its employees. Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintains sanitary condition of equipment by disassembling equipment and cleaning to regulatory standards with a use of high pressure water @ 140 - 160 F; following proper chemical allocation and cleaning applications
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed
- Adhere to all break and lunch requirements for the position
- Learn and execute 8 steps of sanitizing equipment, work area, and other requirements for a quality operation
- Fulfill inspection requirement of equipment after sanitation process is complete
- Must understand the corrective action process
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- Able to speak English preferred
- Previous related experience preferred
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
- Able to work night shift; overtime and weekends as needed
- Effective communication skills
- Learn and understand the three main areas of contamination
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds occasionally throughout an 8-hour shift
- Able to tolerate hot/steam and wet conditions 8+ hours per day
- Able to work around and with chemicals including: alkaline detergents, acid and chlorine liquids and caustic soaps
- Standing, walking and climbing 8+ hours per day
Training Period:
- Minimum six months meeting all above requirements; up to three years
