The role you'll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Sanitation and Utility Specialist is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the Food Production Center, which includes but is not limited to the production area, bakery, coolers, freezers, stockrooms/closets, dish room, warehouse, exterior of the building/loading dock, and trash removal. Responsible for cleanliness of the production and dish machine/dish room equipment, floors, floor drains, walls, baseboards, storage racks, trash cans, etc. Adheres to FDA Food Code standards for cleaning and sanitation.

· Communication - Communicates status of work progress to supervisor; alerts supervisor when equipment, process, or productivity issues arise. Communicates need for specific tools or supplies in a timely manner to avoid delays in productivity. Communicates with coworkers to build teamwork and maintain a smooth operation. Observes and listens well. Displays a positive attitude and courteous disposition. Makes decisions and communicates them appropriately.
· Compliance - Ensures compliance in that work area is clean, orderly, neat, and well organized. Wears hairnet/beard cover in designated areas of the facility and maintains hand hygiene standards. Attends mandatory education and in-services and team meetings; follows AH and NS Policies & Procedures, and SOPs; works toward department goals and objectives. Wears approved uniform and maintains a professional appearance, including AH ID badge. Utilizes knowledge of Nutritional Services compliance information for regulatory agencies. Recycles appropriately.
· Equipment – Appropriately uses, sets up, cleans, and breaks down all commercial equipment. Handles equipment safely and carefully to minimize damage. Maintains, cleans, and uses equipment per specifications to promote longevity and function. Uses an industrial dish machine, three-compartment sink, industrial rack washer, industrial floor cleaner/buffer, pressure washer, cleaning/sanitizing chemicals, etc., depending on facility needs.
· Chemical Use - Properly uses chemicals, equipment and cleaning supplies. Reads and follows instructions, and maintains knowledge of chemicals as contained in the SDS manual. Practices cost conscious behaviors. Restocks chemicals and tools, as needed throughout shift.
