How you will make contributions that matter... The Sanitation Attendant performs plant cleaning and sanitation activities to ensure the highest quality and food safety standards. Perform the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and inspection of all working parts for conformity to federal and state regulations to ensure readiness for production use. Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP's) in detail without deviation.
- Safe operation of a lift truck.
- Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
- Perform equipment change-overs, COP/CIP/SIP, clean-up as defined by the COP, CIP/SIP schedules, equipment set-up for production readiness.
- Perform environmental controls.
- Inspect the equipment for unsanitary practices and conditions and escalate to management and production personnel regarding sanitation concerns or issues.
- Adhere to changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting or work practices to improve sanitation standards or purity of the product.
- Perform cleaning and sanitizing per the plant master sanitation schedules in accordance with State, Federal Regulations and Company policies.
- Performs inspections of plant premises for unsanitary practices and conditions. Document and communicate variances.
- Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
- Follow all established GMP's and Food Safety requirements.
- Train and follow HACCP guidelines as outlined in the IDFA product safety system.
- Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
You are best suited for the role if you... - High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus, but not required.
- A working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP,5S, GMP, etc.).
- Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Truck).
- Strong math skills.
- Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
- Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated work history.
- Good attendance is a must.
- Overtime is required, ability to work up to 12-hours per day.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs/ladders, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
- Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
- Good visual acuity, with the ability to see and differentiate colors.
- Physical lifting up to 50-lbs frequently throughout the shift unassisted and greater than 50-lbs with assistance.
- Shift flexibility.
- Lifting floor to waist and above the shoulders required.
- This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a multi-shift, 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. This can either be rotating, days, swing or night shift and weekends. Workdays and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.
