Job DescriptionGeneral PurposeProvide day-to-day team leadership to sanitation team members. Demonstrate mastery of all job functions related to sanitation processes, procedures, and equipment. Guarantee proper sanitizing of production area and equipment. Maintain a safe, quality, and sanitary plant operation while adhering to all sanitation guidelines and following all established procedures. Serve as a resource to others to solve problems and/or assist with sanitation activities or equipment.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCommunicate the daily schedule at start of shift with the sanitation team, detailing the work requirements of the day and delegating or participating to successfully accomplish the daily tasksFacilitate onboarding and training for new employeesEnsure completion of general housekeeping duties and Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) tasks and record keepingProactively communicate sanitation or related production or equipment issues to supervisor; look for continuous improvement/process improvement opportunitiesPerform cleaning procedures required by the MSS and other required duties to maintain assigned areas and equipment sanitary and cleanClean floor drains, hand wash sinks, overheads, production trash cans, equipment ledges, etc.Assist with clean-in-place (CIP) validations, inventory counting, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) review and developmentComplete, maintain, and review daily and weekly area cleanliness and other reportsEnsure all chemical containers have proper and legible labels on themInspect personal protective equipment (PPE) used for cleaning and report or replace any damaged equipmentComplete special cleaning projectsMaintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesFollow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as requiredRequirementsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent4 to 6 years of sanitation experience or 4+ years of experience with demonstrated leadership attributesCertification and/or License – may be required during course of employmentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of plant operationsKnowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systemsAble to promote a team environmentAble to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writingAble to multi-task and prioritize work activitiesAble to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalismAble to assist others on more complicated aspects of their job in a safe and helpful mannerAble to take appropriate steps to find solutions to problemsAble to perform task and duties without constant supervisionMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishAn Equal Opportunity Employer
