We produce and deliver high volumes of meals spanning a diverse array of cuisines to every demographic in New York City.Our future Sanitation Manager is hardworking, dedicated, and experienced, with a complete understanding of the central kitchen cycle. We are looking for someone to focus on continuous improvement across all our sanitation systems. This position will ensure a high level of employee safety, food safety, as well as efficient product and line changeovers. The Sanitation Manager will ensure compliance with our standards and procedures for sanitation, government, and third-party regulations. We are a proud minority owned business that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion.Must Have:• Strong oral and written communication skills.• Must possess strong computer skills, (Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other software relevant to job functions).• Strong organizational and planning skills.• Must possess excellent skills in food plant sanitation and the ability to train others in food plant sanitation.• Ability to effectively address nonconformances in policy, procedure, and regulations as it relates to sanitation.• Excellent decision-making skills.• Requires person to work in a cold environment.• Requires person to work with common sanitation chemicals such as acids, caustics, and chlorines.• Requires individual to enter confined spaces.What your day will look like: • This position will require someone who has good attention to detail and has a strong sense of urgency and leadership when it comes to responding to risks involving food.• This position will mainly focus on overseeing sanitation initiatives through-out the facility, which includes but not limited to enforcing and overseeing Good Manufacturing Practices, Master Sanitation Schedule, Environmental Microbiology program, and Pest Control Programs.• The Sanitation Supervisor will oversee a sanitation team comprised of team leads and full-time associates in our fulfillment center.• As a supervisor, all associates on your team will report directly to you.• You'll be responsible for holding associates accountable to all department processes and procedures, always.• Manages sanitation functions daily.• Manages the master sanitation schedule used by the sanitation crew.• Manages nonroutine sanitation functions in cooperation with the Food Safety manager.• Completes daily post sanitation inspections to ensure all equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and prepared for production.• Works closely with Food Safety to ensure adequate conditions to produce safe products.• Works closely with sanitation chemical supplier as it relates to SSOP's, cleaning chemicals, and equipment inspections.• Works closely (in conjunction with Food Safety) with regulator inspectors such as FDA and Local Health Department as it relates to audits and inspections.• Ensures all GMP's, Food Safety, Personal Safety, and company policies are adhered to.• Provides initial and ongoing training for direct reports as it relates to sanitation.• Perform other duties as needed. They must be able to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. The employee may also be regularly required to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 50% of the time; regularly operate office machinery, utilize cleaning chemicals, . The employee must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Travel may vary in frequency and duration. The employee must demonstrate the ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 50 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
