What you will do:
Sanitation Operators ensure that the equipment utilized to make our cheese is safe and clean for daily use. Sanitation Operators are responsible for disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and re-assembling all manufacturing and storage equipment in the facility in preparation for daily food production. The work environment requires tolerance to variations in temperature, wet conditions in dishwashing area, exposure to food products, and manufacturing equipment that includes a variety of controls and mechanisms.
Here's a day in life:
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Experience working in a food manufacturing or cheese plant is preferred
* Familiarity with GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety and sanitation (i.e. HACCP, SQF), is preferred
* Ability to work with limited supervision is required
* Proven ability to work independently while performing a variety of production tasks
* Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights weekends and holidays based on business need
* Valve Maintenance (Rebuilds)
* Sanitation Deficiencies
* Identify Leaks and notify lead to Make Repairs
* Monitor for Excessive Water or Chemical Usage
* Assist in the Continued Development of SSOPs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Job requires being dependable, honest, ethical, reliable, responsible, and able to fulfill obligations.
* 1+ years of food production or production manufacturing experience desired.
* Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges, establishing and achieving goals, and exerting effort towards learning and mastering tasks.
* Able to communicate effectively, act as a team player, and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
* Able to work a 12-hour night shift on a rotating schedule with every other weekend off. Holidays shifts are also required. Cows produce milk everyday even on holidays.
Physical Requirements:
* Occasional lifting supplies using equipment.
* Standing raising and lowering up to 45# from to a height of 55 .
* Seldom lifting equipment.
* Standing lifting and carrying to 45# at waist height for 6 feet.
* Occasional lifting supplies using equipment.
* Standing raising and lowering 45#.
* Must be to lift up to 50 pounds.
