Job Description:

Summary: River Point Farms is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Sanitation Operator Working Lead to ensure a clean and efficient operation while meeting customers' expectations of product timeliness and quality. Responsibilities: • Communicate with sanitation supervisor for assignments and special work instructions. • Use appropriate cleaning tools and equipment to support safe working conditions, especially on catwalks, stair steps, platforms, and walkways. • Monitor team members' performance and provide helpful pointers on process improvement. • Coach the crew to complete all tasks and extra assignments. • Communicate equipment failures to maintenance crew to prevent unscheduled downtime. • Ensure chemicals are always used and stored correctly. • Enlist a sanitation supervisor to directly assist and supervise work performed at high or confined spaces. • Report loss of equipment immediately to avoid food safety concerns. • Fill out accident/incident reports as needed for employees. • Refer to sanitation program binder to check and verify sanitation standard operation procedures (SOP) on cleaning procedures, safety precautions and PPR, chemical, and formulation requirements. • Report all food safety concerns and any quality issues to Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager. • Champion a world-class safety culture through on-going trainings, effective preventative maintenance programs, positive promotions, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies and local policies. Qualifications: • 1-2 years relevant experience with leadership ability to oversee operations in multiple areas. Onion processing experience a plus. • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, PPE, fall-prevention, and other standard safety-related programs. • Valid driver's license with ability to maintain. • Strong demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. • Bilingual English/Spanish desired. • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First-Aid certifications. • Mechanical and technical aptitude with ability to use and learn new systems, programs, and tools. • Meet the physical requirements of the role - work involves but is not limited to heavy lifting regularly 30lbs, bending, carrying, holding, kneeling and twisting throughout work period. Stepping up, stepping down climbing steps and ladders, and working at heights. Occasional long-term walking required., While working in a cold and wet environment.
